Christmas Themed Winter Wedding

I have been trying to get everything ready for Christmas.  My husband, and two girls are on their holiday break and with that I decided to also take vacation to spend some quality time with them.  Right now everyone is in bed, I still have to wrap all of Santa’s gifts but have decided to put that off until tomorrow.   I was thinking about this blog site and how I wanted to post a winter wedding and then I remembered Kara and Nick!  They were married the weekend after Thanksgiving at the Peacedale Congregational Church which was followed by a beautiful winter wonderland themed reception.

VENDORS:   Eventfully Planned, Peacedale Congregational Church, The Towers, Blackstone Catering, Weedweavers, Music Mixers (DJ and Event Lighting), Brad Smith Photography, Lynda Williams (Hair Styling), and Krystal Treanor (Makeup Artist)

Sparkly OceanCliff Wedding

Kristina and Chase hired me to assist them in some of the pre planning and day of coordination for their November OceanCliff wedding last year.  Kristina had a vision of all things sparkle as she wanted to incorporate a black/white and red color theme in to the elegant and romantic ballroom at OceanCliff.  She was successful in pulling this all together!  I thought I was pretty well “in the know” of what was going to happen at their wedding but Kristina was pulling little details out of her bag of tricks all day long, from the specialty bridesmaids hangars, to the gold “XOXO” balloons, to the sparklers, to finally to her gold sequin change of dress and many more.  The ultimate plan I did not know about was the boudoir shoot she had planned with her photographer which I did not have worked in to my timeline!  I am not posting those shots but these are things I wish my brides should tell me about, or photographers when I call to talk about final wedding day timelines!:) I’m half kidding and if you know me you know that I love to keep things flowing in a timely manner but also can roll with just about any thing.   Kristina and Chase had an absolutely fantastic wedding day and I was so happy and grateful to be a part of it! (PS… that’s me tying Chase’s bow tie…with a little help from You Tube).

Belle Mer Bling!

Jen and Chris are very busy working professionals who live in Las Vegas and wanted to have a destination wedding in Newport RI.  Jen reached out to me about on year prior to her May 2012 wedding to assist in the planning.  Jen came to town on a couple of separate occasions but most of the planning was done via phone and email.  Alot of the details were etsy purchases that were shipped directly to me. Jen and Chris had a “first look” on the grounds of their hotel followed by all the bridal party pictures.   This allowed for them to mingle with their guests during the cocktail hour once the ceremony was over.  They were married in a beautiful outdoor ceremony and the aisle was lined with thousands of yellow rose petals and there were two enormous alter arrangements that defined the ceremony spot.  Those two arrangements were later moved to the reception space.  They hired a local judge to officiate their ceremony but they added in some really nice traditions and personal touches to make the ceremony very memorable.    For the reception design, we used an equal mix of round tables and square tables as well as high floral arrangements and low floral arrangements for the centerpieces.  Uplighting and the very over the top dessert buffet by Sweet Indulgence just helped pull everything together so perfectly!

Coastal Narragansett Perfection

Laura and Glen were married at the South Ferry Church and their reception was held at the North Beach Clubhouse on Narragansett Town Beach.  They wanted to have a “first look” so they could get their wedding portraits out of the way and enjoy their cocktail hour mingling with their guests.  The morning had an imminent threat of rain so we staged their “first look” right at the South Ferry Church before all the guests arrived.  Laura and Glen had a seaside shabby chic theme  and Susan Sancomb had a surprise waiting for them outside the church once the first look was over…. a vintage car! Once the ceremony was over the guests were invited to the Clubhouse for a cocktail hour on the back deck and then dinner and dancing inside.  Susan did a fantastic job capturing this wedding day!  Thank you so much for sharing these photos with me!

OceanCliff Cross Cultural Nuptials

Nannan and Kashan contacted me to plan their wedding in Newport RI.  Kashan and I had a connection because his brother and my husband had been best friends growing up through grade school and also his parents and my in laws have remained friends through all these years. I was honored that they brought me in to the picture!  They toured many venues and when they toured OceanCliff, it was love at first sight.  They reserved the venue for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for a gorgeous Sunday morning last July.   Their wedding was rich in culture and love.  Guests came from literally all over the world! Nannan is Chinese and Kashan was born in the United States but has Pakistan heritage on his dad’s side.  Nannan chose to wear a traditional ivory wedding dress for the ceremony and most of the reception and she looked like a princess! You can even see me putting in her veil right before the ceremony in the library room! Kashan also wore a tuxedo for the ceremony and most of the reception.  After dinner, they staged a cake cutting ceremony in their western outfits (for the photo op only), then they both changed and had another grand announcement in to the ballroom in their ethnic outfits where they did the actual cake cutting ceremony.  Nannan changed into a beautiful Chinese dress and Kashan changed in to a Sari.  Nannan and Kashan printed all of their own stationary and incorporated a lot of culture throughout the details.
